SHATE-M Plus is an auto parts distributor with a catalog of 500,000+ items and hundreds of dealers across the country. Dealers placed orders by phone, by email or in Excel spreadsheets they sent to their manager. The manager then re-entered each order into 1C by hand, 50–100 lines at a time.
Every order took 15–20 minutes of manual entry and came with typos in part numbers. Dealers couldn't see stock in real time: they would place an order and find out it was “out of stock” 2 days later. Finding the right part for a specific car make and model took hours, because dealers had to call a manager and ask for a suitable alternative.
In the old system, each catalog page took 8–12 seconds to load, and filters by specifications didn't work. The old ERP couldn't handle the load and couldn't take new modules without rewriting the core.
