A fintech startup had an investor demo day in 4 months. By then it had to show a working product with real transactions, or the round would fall through. The job: take the idea from the founder's head to a live platform investors could actually get their hands on.
The hard part wasn't the development itself but the fintech requirements: KYC verification compliant with 152-FZ (Russia's personal data law) and AML rules, PCI DSS for card handling, integration with Stripe and Russian banking APIs, data encryption and an audit log for every operation. One security slip, and investors get up and leave.
At the same time, the MVP couldn't get bloated: extra features meant missed deadlines. We had to build a minimum viable product on the right architecture, one that could grow later instead of being rewritten.
